In 2010, after a successful architectural career, Tom has
devoted his life to becoming a professional watercolor artist. He has authored
two books, the AIA award-winning Architecture in Watercolor, and The Art of
Architectural Drawing. He is a two-time recipient of the Hugh Ferriss Memorial
Prize. A third book -The Architecture of Light - is in progress. A DVD series
by Artist Network TV was released in 2015.
Tom’s work was featured in The American Masters Exhibition
2015 at the Salmagundi Club and he was the US Juror 2015 for Watercolor
International II, Thessaloniki. He has been included in many recent prestigious
international exhibitions - AWS, NWS, California Art Club, Shenzhen Watercolor
Biennial, Fabriano in Acquarello, Festival Internazionale Acquerelli Sperlonga,
Biennial International Prize Fabriano, World Through Art Moscow, International
Watercolor Biennial Canada, Zhujiajiao International Watercolor Biennial,
Masters of Watercolor St.Petersburg, World Watermedia Exposition,Thailand, etc.
His work is in the permanent collection of the Museum for Architectural Drawing
in Berlin and the Pacific Arts Foundation. He has been profiled in many recent
books, magazines, and other publications around the world.
He is a Signature Member of the AWS, and an active or
Signature Member of many other arts organizations, NWS, NWWS, CWA, SDWS, etc.
Tom is also an Artist Member of the California Art Club, and the Salmagundi
Club, NYC..
