May Hege Rygel is born and lives in Oslo where she has her studio.
Artistic education, with the painter Leif Lundgren from 1970-1980. In the last years, several courses with nordic watercolor painters.
Membership in Nordic Watercolor Association (NAS) and NFUK (Norwegian artist organization)
Her work has been exhibited in a number of national and international exhibitions such as: Salon de L’aquarelle du Hallan, France, (2008), XI Exp. Int. De Acuarela (ECWS), Segovia, Spain (2009), Nordic Watercolor 2010 / Nordic House in Reykjavik, Island, Höstsalong, Edsvik Konsthall, Sweden (2011), Nordic Watercolor 2013 / The 16th ECWS Int. Watercolour Exhibition, Løten, Norway - among others.
May Hege Rygel's paintings are abstract motifs of what she sees and experiences. Her own thoughts in life are often part of the paintings. The composition is precise. Her paintings are sensitive and have a type of "Nordic Light" within them. Nature is clearly a source of inspiration. The motives are many. Her skratch book is full of ideas.
