David Paskett studied fine art at Hornsey and Exeter
Colleges of Art. He was President of the Royal Watercolour Society 2009.-12. Artist in Residence at the Pitt
Rivers Museum, Oxford University, 1992.
Since living in Hong
Kong 1986-90 David has regularly sourced imagery for his paintings in
China. He has lectured at major art
academies, including Hangzhou, Shanghai, Chongqing, Naning, Lanzhou and
Shenyang, Also participating as a judge and exhibitor in International
watercolour exhibitions in Lushan, Shanghai, Zhujiajiao and Hangzhou.
Last year at Luxun Art Academy, Shenyang and Songcheng
Gallery, Shandong, and a retrospective at The Hong Kong Club.
Large ceramic
paintings are exhibited in Fuliang’s
ancient town near Jingdezhen.
In recent years associations with The Paper Museum Biennale
in Fabriano, an RWS exhibit in Malta and a solo show at the Majlis Gallery,
Dubai, David has been casting his net
nearer to home.
Visits to Dubai, Malta, Greece, Morocco, Italy and Spain ,
often whilst teaching, have given rise to a new body of multi layered imagery.
Constantly drawing from life, he makes connections
between people and objects, in everyday locations where mini dramas arise and light and geometry
fuse to elevate and give stature to the
incidental.

David painted a
Watercolour for 100th birthday of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
He won the The Queens Award in 1965 and subsequent awards
with the RWS , Hunting Observer and Sunday Times Watercolour Competition.
